An episode in the revolutionary agitation in Halifax
bean the presences in Delhousie (migersity of one
E. Pavlovitch, who recently graduated in medicine.
During
his period as an undergraduate this man kept very quiet,
but succeeded in inducing the Chinese revolutioniste (Kuo
Min Tang) and the local Canadian Communiate to come
together. The Halifax Communists now intend to work with
this faction, ▲ report saya;-
"Kugh Pynn, Secretary of the Communist Party. informed me it was the intention of the party to work together with the Ius Min Tang ia Halifax, They propage to organise joint classes, both economical and political, during the year. Pym informed me that thia” Chinese organisation has branches throughout Canada with a tētai moabership of 16,000; and in Halifax, between 30 and 40 members, with two leading Chinese, Robert Tong and Quong Sheng, both of whom are proprietors of Chinese restaurante.
"The Ino Hin Tang in Canada are at present chiefly interested in the national affairs of their native land; and they organised in Canada with a view to giving moral and financial support to the Comuniat movement in China, Their national polioy and activity so far only concerns China; but attempts are being made by the Communist Party of Canada to drag the Chinese radicals into the Canadian Communist movement. The intention of the Canadian party is to change the limited National programe of the Chinese organimation no na to make it International, and so get Chinese more interested in Canadian labour affairs. In addition to the evening olasses, they propose to hold joint meetings, and according to Pym, this scheme
as full approval and amport from the headquarters of the Communist Party, Toronto,"
